The Abduction Myth on sale

The price of my new ebook The Abduction Myth has temporarily been reduced to $0.99!  It's suspenseful, it makes you think, and it's romantic.  The best of everything!  Purchase it here.

Following a disastrous breakup Stevie Callaghan, a shy book illustrator, is under extreme time pressure to move out of her fiance's house.  In desperation she rents an apartment above a communist bookstore owned by Rick Smith, a scruffy intellectual.  Beloved by his customers and staff despite his brusque manner, Rick only employs men from a young offender program—something he neglects to tell Stevie until she’s already moved in.

Stevie soon befriends a few members of Rick’s staff, however, and becomes a regular in the bookstore cafe.  Just as she begins to enjoy her new life a series of bizarre events, including a late-night fire no one else seems to notice, and a recurring dream in which she is visited by a talking dragon, leave her unsettled.  Worse yet, Vince, the bookstore’s newest employee, develops an obsessive interest in her.  After Stevie’s mother persuades her to move across town, Rick appears at her new apartment and initiates a relationship with Stevie; to her own surprise she falls in love with him.  Her overbearing mother is instantly suspicious of Rick, but she cannot persuade Stevie to leave him.

Meanwhile, Vince becomes convinced that Rick hides a horrifying secret, and embarks on a twisted campaign to “save” Stevie that leaves her life shattered.   After someone close to her is then the victim of a brutal murder, Stevie is forced to confront her own suspicions that Rick is not at all who he claims to be.
